The brief

Maximised passive design, a reduced energy cost/carbon footprint and integration with the garden and green spaces was critical to our clients in the design of this home.

Our approach

With two street frontages and a slope from the front to back, it did provide a challenge due to its north orientation and resulted in a great creative outcome. With a garage set at the back of the block, visitors access the home from the front via a sky bridge that looks down over the native setting. Open integration between the landscape and the home was important, achieved via featuring views and nooks to the garden as well as a private roof garden for the master suite balcony. The synergy between landscape and the design & was integral right from the start with Chelsea Garden award winner, Phillip Johnson landscapes engaged to partner us on this project.
