St Andrews Beach
- Difficult Block
- Knock down rebuild
The design for the St Andrews Beach House was all about maximising the views and capturing the sunset in particular, amongst the best in the world according to our well-travelled clients. The brief was to design a spacious modern family-friendly beach house with an eye to the future where it may possibly be their main residence. They wanted to design and build a beach house that stands the test of time and not readily date.
The two main aims of maximizing the views and capturing the sunset proved to be a challenge with southerly views facing Bass Strait and the sunset to the west. The southerly views resulted in lots of windows with an open courtyard to the north which is protected and also looks through to the views. A large overhang protects the windows from the westerly sun and the building is stepped back behind the western façade to provide further protection.
This 4 bedroom home is designed for luxury living and family entertaining with a gym, an indoor pool x2 protected outdoor living areas, lots of room for the family, guests and quality fixtures and fittings.
